On August 1st at 8.00 a.m. outside Colne Market Hall I joined with local cubs, beavers and scouts to hear them renew their scout promises. This was a part of the scouting activities to celebrate the Scouting movement for boys started by Baden Powell 100 years ago. My dad was scout around 15 years after the movement started. And in my youth I was in the Boys' Brigade, 2nd Burnley Company.

The Steam and Stream Trail was launched at Letcliffe Park, Barnoldswick on the 15th June 2007. I then led everyone along the trail, where we called at many interesting buildings on the way. Here I am at East Hill Street, Barnoldswick for the handover to residents on the 11th June 2007 of their refurbished terraced homes. The homes are now part of the Healthy Homes Scheme following extensive repairs and renewals to the properties.

This year marks the first time in almost 20 years that Barnoldswick has had a representative as Mayor of Pendle. To celebrate the occasion, this year's Mayoral Sunday took place in the town on 21st May. It was a nice sunny and warm day.
